After the sad death of the singer Whitney Houston, a group of recognized Costa Rican musicians have produced a musical honoring the singer.  The group will do a tour spotlighting her more well known songs a well as those that received less radio play but that real fans know. The event is a double date - the first date will be Wednesday, the 14th of March in the Jazz Coffee Escazú and the second date will be the 28th of the same month but in the Jazz Coffee San Pedro, both events at 8:30pm. The cost of the entry is of ¢4000 per person and the duration of the concert is expected to be a little more than two hours for the wide list of Whitney's songs. Musicians who have the honor to give this amazing tribute are singer Charlene Stewart, Carlos Delgado and other members of the band SD.

A Costa Rican artistic showcase! Drum Fest 2012 will repeat the event of placing young Costa Rican talents next to important elements of the international and local music, as part of the Assembles of Percussion Coast Rica-UNED. To be held at the National Center of the Culture (CENAC) on February 25 and 26, the Drum Fest 2012 will demonstrate the versatility of the national musicians and as stated by counselor Carlos Sanders, it will be a " space full of drums, saucers, with very contemporary music, of the first world ".

Festival Imperial is a major Costa Rican music festival organized by cerveceria Costa Rica and their flagship beer: IMPERIAL The first festival took place in April 2006 and brought world-known performers such as Sting, Jamiroqua, Diego Torres and the Rasmus. The second edition of the festival was held on April 2008 and featured: Duran Duram , Incubus and Smashing Pumpkings among others.
